*Mar and Heather will be writing these blog posts in joint effort and they will appear on both of our blogs. Mar's 'voice' will be in purple and Heather's in green. Enjoy.*
Tuesday we woke up to a blanket of snow on the grass and the sun shining brightly. (EVERYONE was thanking Mar for bringing the snow, as it was so beautiful Tuesday morning!) Riley of course wanted to go play in the snow so after coffee and breakfast, that’s what we did! I taught Riley how to throw a snowball, make a snowman and snow angel. I am a pro at all those things since I live in snow 6 months out of the year. He had a blast and was very proud of his snowman that he named “Frosty”. (Although after an average of 1 snow a year for the past 29 years I AM 'capable' of building a snow angel and making a snow man, I cannot express how much it meant to me to have Mar share in this first time experience with Riley! I have to say, she does roll a snow ball better than I!)

The weather was gorgeous so we decided to go shopping. First we hit half price books. I think I could have spent all day there browsing the shelves. I was looking for a replacement of my Helter Skelter book that I forgot on the plane L I was so sad, it was hardcover, had a picture of the girls in it, as well as a special bookmark. Unfortunately they didn’t have it there but I was able to pick up my book club's next book for $7! Did I mention that I love that store! (DITTO!!!)
After half price books, we headed to Bed. Bath and Beyond. Heather shops there quite often and we don’t have them here so we got to look around the store. I didn’t buy anything although I was very tempted! (aren't we all!? lol)
We decided to have lunch at Arby’s. I had a pretty extensive list of restaurants that I have seen advertised on tv that don’t exist up here. Heather loves Arby’s and since she doesn’t get to go often was happy to stop there. I had a yummy sandwich with melted cheese (aka: Beef 'N Cheddar), Horsey sauce ( I want to buy that stuff in bulk, it is soooo yummy!) and a Jimocha shake. We needed our fuel for shopping! (how could she forget the seasoned curly fries?!?! MY FAVORITE thing there! However, I prefer the Arby's sauce to the horsey sauce, but to each her own!)
After lunch, we headed to the outlet mall. We spent most of the day browsing all the stores and scoring some great deals! Of course they were all on kids clothes. That’s what happens when you have kids. :-) I attempted to ride some of the kid rides and showed Heather what a loser I truly am! (NOT AT ALL! The ability to be silly and have fun is definitely one of your best qualities!) We were both pooped after all our shopping and decided to go out for dinner. (Mar forgot to mention that I took her of a tour of around the town I grew up in...she got to see my childhood home, elementary school, high school, grocery store, etc. Wonder how she could have forgotten such an exciting adventure! lol)

How could I forget the curly fries!!! I knew there something about the fries at all the different places we ate and I could NOT for the life of me remember what it was at Arby's!
I love reading the comments that you've added to my writing :) It's so much fun to be able to this in tandem. I miss you already!
Oh what fun! I love Texas Roadhouse too! It's a family favorite because of the peanuts!!
Yes, we LOVE Texas Roadhouse!! It is like a little piece of home wherever we go!
I am SOOOOOO glad you got some SNOW Heather!!!! I loved seeing Riley play in it! I take it for granted that snow is just something we have lots of in the winter! Great job with the re-caps you two! :-)
