Difference b/w Canada & America

These are just a few pictures I took after Mar left from her visit last month, a few examples of LITTLE differences between America and Canada that I noticed and thought were worth sharing. I was hoping to spend more time on this post, along with Mar, and share many more (like how we pronounce the letter Z as 'zee' and Canadians say 'zed'), but we are both extremely busy and overbooked these days, so this little tid-bit will have to do for now! This is the LAST post I had already started before our visit to Utah, so now I can move on to writing about our trip next.

The top picture is a box of 'Smarties' as in Canada...they are a chocolate candy similar to plain M&Ms, but with some malt flavor and slightly larger. The bottom picture is of American 'Smarties' and Canadian 'Rockets', which are exactly the same candy, just with different names (and Rockets are a bit bigger as well).

This is a pack of cigarettes from Canada, I HAD to have Mar bring me one to see! They are packaged inside into two different silver wrappings, unlike America which just has one, the box shape is obviously different, they have completely different brands than we do, but most notable is (and you can see better if you click on pic and enlarge) the health warnings that appear on Canadian boxes (oh, and one side is in French, the other in English, so I had to take the picture of the French side! LOL). My guess is that it's because of their public health care system, as these notices take up half the box, I kid you not! They also cost A TON more up there than they do even here.

Hope you enjoyed the little 'cultural' lesson!

Potty Trained

It has now been over 3 weeks and Riley is still doing great! I would say he is officially potty trained! Not even ONE accident during our week long vacation, including on the airplane! Yay Riley!

(Once again, I created this before we left, so I'll post it while I gather all my thoughts on our fabulous vacation with Mel & Fam!)

Backyard Fun at Nana's House

We're still on vacation, but I already had these posts ready so I figured I'd put them up in the meantime.

In case the software doesn't tell you - click on each picture for larger view and more description. Enjoy!

Dinosaurs Alive

We went to an exhibit at a local museum in February, called "Dinosaurs Alive". They had 15 or more animatronic, full-size dinosaurs on display, on an outdoor trail. We LOVED IT! Indoors they had bones, fossils, computer lessons, rocks, sandboxes to dig in, etc. Riley had a blast! He was so excited and in such a hurry to get to the next dinosaur, then we would get there, he would keep his distant, and then say, "Alright, time for the next one!". He wasn't 'scared', but he was a bit nervous when they would 'roar' and move their heads. By the end of the trip he was joking around, hiding his head in my jacket, pretending to be scared, but just being silly. It was a great day and I'm finally glad I got around to sharing it!
Oh, speaking of, I saw this program and wanted to give it a try. This is the free version, so I believe there are going to be ads when I post, but it was REALLY fast and easy to use, you'll probably see more of this! Hope you like it too!
