Weigh In #4

Lost 3.5 lbs. this past week, making a grand total of 10.3 lbs. lost.
YAY!!!!!!!
My first 'goal' was to lose 10 lbs. my first 30 days and I hit it right on the dot. And now that the first 10 lbs. is gone, I look forward to feeling and seeing the loss from now on.
I've been a little 'sick' the past couple of days, but I am feeling A LOT better and ready to get back to Turbo Jamming!
We started Phase 3 on Fat Smash tomorrow...yay bread! We go 4 weeks on this phase, so we'll see how good it is to us.

I guess my next goal is to get to my pre-pregnancy weight...I'm about, we'll say 8 lbs. away...that'll be exciting!

Random Riley Ravings

Just wanted to get in writing some of the wonderful things Riley is doing nowadays!
He is saying 'Backyardigans' really well, which is so fun because of all the symbols. He is still so loving and sweet, giving kisses to bear, saying bye to everyone and everything when it's naptime, bedtime, or when we're leaving. He even says 'Hi House' and 'Bye House' when we go somewhere in the car. It's just too cute. He knows what 'wet' means. After nap his bear is often wet, either from Riley chewing on him or possibly sweating (our a/c just doesn't' t cool upstairs well enough), and he likes to point out to me that bear is wet. And yesterday he took his bib off and sucked on his shirt, so when I pulled him out of his high chair he showed me that his shirt was wet. He also seems to have this crazy knowledge regarding the use of 'plural'. Seriously, it's weird. He knows when to say color or colors, puppy or puppies, carrot or carrots, etc. I don't know how, and I'm amazed! He knows so many animals and sounds I can't even start a list. He knows all the character names on Dora, Spongebob and the Wonder Pets, as well as most from Diego and The Backyardigans. Every footprint or handprint is 'blues clues'...too cute!
I just have so much fun with him! Everyday he learns so much, I can hardly keep up. Half the time I'm so proud of myself for doing a good job with him (yeah, who wouldn't be proud with kids like all of our's, right?!?), and the other half I'm wondering, where on Earth did he learn that! Ha ha ha.
He's my little Smarty Bear and I couldn't be more proud. I can't wait until the day comes when I get to sit down and tell him all about it, all about how excited his mommy was when he learned what 'cheeks' were!
Have a great Hump Day everyone!

Weigh In #3

I've lost 3.6 lbs. since last weigh in and a total of 6.4 since we started 24 days ago.
We will have 1 more week on Phase 2, so we'll start Phase 3 next Tuesday. The biggest change will be 1-2 more ounces of meat each day and whole grains! We get to add some whole wheat bread, pasta, etc. YAY!

I'm doing different things for exercise - Walk Away The Pounds 2 Mile, WATP Walk & Jog, WATP Walk & Kick, Turbo Jam 20 Minute - but the goal is 35 minutes per day 5-6 days a week, which I'm sticking to very well.

I'm very happy with this weigh in and hope next week's is just as good! Thansk for everyone's support.

On another note: My son scared me half to death last night. He was crawling on the floor, for some reason, and was using the base of our console table to stand back up, and his hand slipped, causing him to fall and hit his chin...I think...on the bottom of the table (which is a shelf/table). All we saw was blood...LOTS of blood...after using a wet cloth to wipe it away we uncover a HUGE gash in his bottom lip. (well, at least I can stop looking for broken teeth) I run for ice and Chris inspects further and says he thinks he bit straight through his lip. That's all I need to hear...load him and let's hit the emergency room! We decided to try one of those emergency clinics first, it was just down the street, but there was a TWO HOUR WAIT! You can imagine how I reacted to that news. So we get him back in the car and head to the hospital. On the way it stops bleeding and Riley stops crying and we can see it's not bit ALL the way through, just cut on inside AND outside...so we calm down and decide to go to an emergency clinic by mom's house that has only a 45 minute wait. On the way there we decide to just go to mom's and let her (as a grandman with DECADES of experience) take a look and see what she thinks. By the time we got there it looked SO MUCH better. She didn't think it needed stiches, we agreed, so we just gave hiim a popsicle to suck on, hoping to take down some of the swelling. It's so sad to look at. He's 'playing' with it today...pushing it out with his tongue, sucking on it, picking at it...so that's gonna be a challenge, but for now, he seems okay. It's funny though, his first big bump on the head I was so calm and collected...but at the sight of seeing my baby boy's blood, I was a wreck! You aren't supposed to see their blood! It's just wrong and scary! I'm grateful that he's okay and hope it stays that way for a long time to come. :-)

Weight Loss Update

Weighed in Tuesday, October 3rd...Day 17 on the diet...and gained 2 lbs! Needless to say I was very upset yesterday. I have honestly been very committed to this diet and was extremely surprised with my results for my second weigh in. So, I spent a lot of time looking over my plan and realized I wasn't taking in enough calories...I was barely hitting 1000...so I've upped my calories and hope that will make the difference next week.
In the meantime...here is a 'virtual' picture of what I'm hoping to see over the next few months!
